Terms of use

About these terms

These terms are between you and Lydia Amadi Chinyere, the maker of Lantern, based in the United Kingdom. By playing Lantern or using this website you agree to them. If you download Lantern from the App Store or Google Play, their terms apply too.

Playing Lantern

We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to play Lantern for your own enjoyment. Please do not copy, sell, modify or reverse engineer the game, or use cheats or tools that interfere with it or with other players.

Embers and other items

  • Embers, lanterns, frames, charms and other items in Lantern are part of the game. They have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money or moved between players.
  • You can earn embers by playing. You can also buy them, or buy No ads, through Apple or Google. Prices are shown before you pay.
  • Purchases are sold by Apple or Google under their terms. Refunds are handled by them. This does not affect your legal rights as a consumer in the UK.
  • Because your progress is saved on your phone, deleting the app or resetting progress removes your embers and items. Purchases of No ads can be restored with Restore purchases in Settings.

Ads

The only ads in Lantern are optional rewarded videos you choose to watch. They are provided by Google AdMob.

Playing with others

In Two Lanterns, be kind. Do not use a traveller name that is offensive or pretends to be someone else.

Changes and availability

We may update Lantern to add, change or remove features. We will try to keep the game available but cannot promise it will always be, or that it will be free of bugs.

Our responsibility to you

We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

The law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you may also bring a claim in your local courts.
