Fact sheet
Short description
Lantern is a cosy night-time runner where the world only exists inside your light. Steer your lantern down fifteen dark roads, catch oil to keep your flame alive, and follow the letters that lead you home to your lost dog, Pip.
About the game
On the night of a storm, your dog Pip slipped her lead and ran into the dark. Someone found her: Marigold, an old lamplighter, who leaves oil and a letter on every road for whoever is following. In Lantern you walk those roads with only your lantern. Everything outside its glow is pitch black, so every tree, puddle and moth appears only as your light reaches it.
Oil is time. Every flask buys seconds of light, chains buy more, and running dry gives you a heartbeat of embers to find one more. Each of the fifteen worlds adds its own twist, from tides that swallow the path to volcano vents that breathe every few seconds.
